I have chosen to unlicense this blog. This means that this blog, and all information within, is free to use as you will. I would appreciate being credited and linked if any information in the blog is used, but that is merely a preference, and I’m fine with not being credited at all. Plagiarize me all you want.
Why did I choose to unlicense? There are a number of reasons why.
Given my past history with copyright activism, and my beliefs that copyright laws are inefficient and in dire need of reform, it would be hypocritical of me to want to protect my work with that same copyright.
Furthermore, I believe that information is its own entity, and nobody, not even the author of that information, deserves to control it. We cannot use evolutionary instincts to dictate ownership of post-scarcity works that can be replicated infinitely.
Thirdly, I want to write for the benefit of humanity, not my own. And although some part of me desires credit and fame for my writings, I have come to suppress that part in favor of a more cosmopolitan outlook: that I should try to do things for the good of humanity instead. And although the works in this blog is nowhere near that level of impact, I still think that if I ever intend on doing things for humanity, rather than for selfish gain, I should start immediately, with the most insignificant things. And the type of copyright that I use is a good way to reflect that philosophy.
